3D modelling – Dinning Room

This project showcases a detailed 3D model of a kitchen and dining area, created using Blender. Drawing upon my experience from the New Media Production and Design (NMPD) program at SAIT, I focused on replicating a realistic, industrial-modern interior. The project demonstrates my proficiency in 3D modeling, texturing, and lighting, with an emphasis on creating a space that feels both functional and aesthetically pleasing. 

Objective

The objective was to design a realistic kitchen-dinning space, capturing the textures and details of a contemporary industrial interior. This project was built to explore and refine my ability to model complex structures and objects and apply photorealistic material and lighting. 

Inspiration

This project is heavily influenced by the design principles I learned during my time in the NMPD program at SAIT. The program provided a solid foundation in visual storytelling, design techniques, and digital tools, all of which were integral in executing this project. 

Key Features: 

  • 3D modeling: I created detailed models of key elements, such as the dining table, chairs, kitchen appliances, and cabinetry. Special attention was given to the structural details, like the brick walls and metal ventilation pipes. 
  • Texturing & Materials: Applied a variety of textures, including brick, wood, metal, and plastic, using both procedural textures and image-based UV mapping to achieve a realistic look. 
  • Lighting: Utilized Blender’s lighting tools to simulate both natural and artificial light sources. The lighting highlights the industrial feel of the space while giving a warm, homely atmosphere. 
  • Rendering: Rendered the scene using Blender’s Cycles engine to achieve high-quality, photorealistic results. The render captures fine details, form the wooden floors to the glossy surfaces of the kitchen appliances. 

Outcome

The final render presents a warm, industrial-style kitchen and dining space that successfully combines functionality and visual appeal. This project exemplifies my ability to handle complex 3D modeling tasks and achieve realistic results through detailed texturing and lighting.
